The Move

Hey after noon fellow bloggers hope all is well just wanted to post an update seeing as any everyday blog stalkers I may have out there might be wondering whats been new and whats going on. Well i recently moved to a new location in South Florida and have a few more weddings coming up after my trip home to Buffalo. The new place is coming along nicely and will be setting up a studio here at the apartment so defiantly keep in touch and keep checking back because this summer will be jam packed with fun and exciting things to come. Also Just letting everyone know I am having a senior portrait special coming up this summer so get in touch and get your senior portraits done before school starts. I have worked with many south Florida models and other levels of portraiture and would love to bring that special touch to a special set of pictures for you soon to be graduating high school seniors. Keron + Nackia : Vow Renewal Session, Second Shooting

After noon bloggers, As is said in past posts I'm new to the blog thing :-) yay to the blog newbies. So I want to catch up with my posts and start posting more often to keep my bloggers informed of what I have been up to, what is happening and what is coming up. I recently been doing a lot of second shooting with The one The only Melissa Powell of Melissa Powell Photography. Woo Hoo shes a blast to work with and shes full of energy. I like to call her a firecracker photog, shes bursting with energy and she has awesome work. Just recently i did a vow renewal session with Melissa that was a blast the Groom wanted to give his wife the fairy tail wedding that she always wanted and he got to do just that for her and Melissa and I were there to capture every moment. Keron and Nackia just were awesome to work with they where very out going and that makes the job so much easier and so much sweeter. Keron and Nackia's little boy Joshua was a ham and a half too there were moments where he would cheese it up for the camera then other times he wouldn't want to smile i think the some of the best pictures I got of him was him just being a kid.

It was nice how everything was laid out and it was nice how everyone was so nicely dressed it truely was a fairytale wedding for Nackia, and whats a fairytale without a princess.



And you can't forget no princess is complete without her prince charming

Brooke Hogan At FAU

Well mostly everyone knows who or knows of Brooke Hogan the famous wrestlers daughter who has been all over TV especially VH1. well this past thursday I was doing another job for Florida Atlantic University or better known as FAU down here in south florida. I really enjoy taking pictures on campus and working with alot of the student at the school. So i was there taking pictures for the student bonfire for the football pep rally thing they had going on. The night prior to the event i was called up my my employer through the school and told that i couldn't say anything that brooke hogan was going to be on campus. I thought to my self yea she will be there but ill never see her or anything she will most likely be surrounded by people and guards and tv cameras and ill have to use my 80-200 to even get a picture of her. Well i was wrong I not only was able to take pictures of her but i was able to kinda meet her and take pictures of her with students and the guy that she was there with not sure if he was with vh1 or her boyfriend some one she was seeing not sure, but it was cool to actually say i got to meet a celebrity. I know that where I'm from I've never gotten to see a celebrity in person yet alone meet them. So figured i would post a few of the pictures from the event that i took and a few pictures of brooke enjoy folks.

Hey bloggers! Just keeping you folks up to date on what I have been up to as of lately. Recently two of my friends just got married, Very happy for them and wish them all the best. I was excited that i got the chance to do their beach wedding for them and that it enabled me to work with a different kind of lighting. I had a good time shooting and it gave me the chance to test out some of my new glass and find ways to use my old glass in a different way. Well at least i thought the evening started off with me pulling out my camera and then having my 18-135 lens fall onto the pavement. Yea wasn't to happy about that but oh well its just a kit lens that is soon to be replaced by new glass any how just stinks loosing glass right before doing a shoot. So i showed up at 6:30 like asked to take some portrait shots, one problem no bride or groom. i call the bride up and ask her what time everyone was showing up because as the sun keeps falling in th sky we have less and less good light for pictures. Well the bride tells me that josh (the groom) should be there in 5 mins, well 15 mins goes by and no groom. So i called the bride back and asked her umm where is josh, she replies um hes in front of me because he was to slow. But i was able to get all the portraits and and the ceremony done before the sun went down. I had fun shooting the wedding and got to enjoy my friends getting married.



I think the bride was either thinking hmm i wonder what Im getting myself into or Mmmm i wonder what underwear i should wear tonight. Your guess is as good as mine.

Hello I am a Blog Newbie

Hey folks, well I'm new to the blog scene and have been recommended to start a blog. So now here I am starting my first blog and first blog post. I would first like to go over the basics of who I am why I'm starting a blog and basically what i do as a person and as a new found business. I have recently started my new venture into the big world of business to give myself separation from me as a personal identity and me as my business identity. First things first though my name is Joshua Ott and i have gone through a lot in my short 21 soon to be 22 years on this earth and i have decided that where i would like to be in life is to be an artist. I have traveled 1500 miles from home to start a life going to school as a fine arts major focusing on 3d animation. Well that plan didn't work out 100% as planed I ended up switching over into graphic design after a difficult time in my life and dealing with a break off with a significant other that sorta made life slightly difficult and effected not only my schooling but me physically and mentally as well. But as i have grown as an artist i have found a new fond love that has quite rapidly has become a substantial portion of my artistic career. I have found the art of photography to be not only eye opening but also something that i find to give me new challenges with every time i pick up my camera. The one thing i can say i love most about my life as a photographer is the reactions of my clients when they see the pictures for the first time. I also have found it has given me the ability to see life in a different way with a new found beauty. Like the old saying a pictures worth a thousand words, with this being very true i feel that a picture captured by a true photographer can be worth a thousand and one words.

On another note in the past couple of weeks i have decided to take my freelance photography to a business level playing field. Yes I know that it completely changes the game for me but I want to have that separation as I said from my personal and business identities. I also understand starting out a business is not a piece of cake, I have watched my step father who has greatly influenced my life not only as a father figure but also in my views of business. He has shown me much over the many years he has been around and i have watched him build a business from the ground to the successful business it now is. Now i have taken the reins of my own business venture with camera in one hand and reflector in the other. Now the first steps must be taken with a SB-800 in hand and slowly guide my way through the cave of new beginnings. Step one get my name out, get my website up and running, and get my business cards printed. Step two we shale see how things grow after step one. If you take to many steps at once your more then likely going to trip, yes you will have stumbles along the way but theres no need to run through a cave when you cant see but whats directly in front of you the entire way.

To finish off this first post i would not only like to talk about my views as a newly born business but also to give a moment to reflect so when any future clients read this post they get more then just me blabbing about my business views. My goal is not to just be a photographer but also become a friend i believe that building a better relationship with your clients enables better work to be produced. I like to make my clients that i work with laugh. Laughter is something many people should but do not exercise on a daily basis. My goal as a photographer is not to just capture good images but great images. Images that make you say wow that picture is worth a thousand and one words, because just that one extra word makes the world of a difference.
